Lasell University Hosts New England Mosaic Society Show

The New England Mosaic Society (NEMS) has chosen two of my mosaics, Monterosso al Mare and Divided States of Insanity to include in the Society’s mosaic art juried exhibition at the Wedeman Gallery at LaSell University, located at 47 Myrtle Avenue, Newton, MA. National Shows add to the local art scene

Flag mosaic accepted into Cape Cod Museum of Art national show

Juror, Lauren P. Della Monica, selected 52 artworks from over 362 to be included in the Cape Cod Museum of Art‘s annual invitational exhibition titled: “We The People,” …the first three words in the Preamble of the US Constitution. This national competition asked artists to respond to the current political culture in light of the goals of the country’s founders and guiding principles.

The Old and New of Boston’s North End

Mosesian Center for the Arts Member Show Opens

I attended the opening for the 2018 Member Show last night.  It was well attended.  The band and refreshments were great and the art impressive and varied including white line woodcuts, paintings, sculpture, and collage media.  I was also very impressed by the center itself, which offers a full range of art programming in  theatre, music, and the visual arts.  My work included 3 mosaic cityscapes.  I was happy to see them grouped together.

Mosaic cityscape receives Second Prize in juried Summertime show

I am encouraged and glad to receive the Second Place award for my mosaic of the Cinque Terre coastal town Monterosso al MareThis piece is one of three accepted into this juried show at the Artists Corner & Gallery in West Acton, MA.  The show includes a wide range of media focused on the theme of summer, well worth the trip to this very comfortable gallery.  The show runs through August 19, 2018.

New mosaic depicting Cinque Terre region of Italy

I just finished this view of the most popular of the 5 Cinque Terre villages in the Liguria region of Italy.  I visited the area several summers ago and was amazed at how the villages grew up on the cliffs of the area.  This is Number 8 in my Italy series of mosaics.  You may also find photography from this and other trips in the photography section of my website.
