I finally finished this piece, which I started at the SAMA conference in April. As as kid I always enjoyed looking at and studying flags. As an adult, I have been collecting them as I travel and asking friends to bring me flags from where they travel with the plan of making a quilt one day. This piece however, departs from the usual reverence I have for our flag and tries to capture the seriousness of the times. I call it, “Divided States of Insanity”.
