I recently finished this mixed media mosaic of Boston’s North End. Those who know me know that Boston is a major theme in my artwork. I love the architecture of the “old” Boston and some of the”new” Boston. I saw this sunset from a parking garage high above the North End one early summer evening and was determined to capture it in a mosaic. I used smalti, Venetian tile, millefiore, beads, and mirror for the architecture. I crafted the foreground park and sky with stained glass. The sky turned out to be my favorite part of this piece, particularly where the Custom Tower kisses the sky.
