Mosaic cityscape receives Second Prize in juried Summertime show

I am encouraged and glad to receive the Second Place award for my mosaic of the Cinque Terre coastal town Monterosso al MareThis piece is one of three accepted into this juried show at the Artists Corner & Gallery in West Acton, MA.  The show includes a wide range of media focused on the theme of summer, well worth the trip to this very comfortable gallery.  The show runs through August 19, 2018.

Two mosaics accepted to Arts in Bloom show

I am excited to say that two of my mosaics will be showing in the annual juried Arts in Bloom show being held by the Hopkinton Center for the Arts. This year’s show was juried by Mim Brooks Fawcett, Executive Director and Chief Curator of the Attleboro Museum.  One is a cityscape, entitled Venezia, from my Italy cityscape series.

Italy Series #3

Finally, I finished #3 in the Italy series.  This one, called The Duomo, highlights a side street in Florence down which you can just see just a fraction of (the top) the city’s famous cathedral.  I wanted to capture it from a perspective that you don’t typically see in the many artistic renderings of this famous and towering church.

#2 in Italy Series

Just finished the second cityscape in my Italy Series.  This one features the Cinque Terre town of Riomaggiore (one of 5 quaint villages, hence the name Cinque), along the Mediterranean coast that are more easily accessed by boat, train, and on foot, than by car.  I got there by boat.
